All eyes were on Hamilton after picking up a stellar pole position. The start of the race saw Hamilton lose a few places and both McLarens pouncing on the opportunity to fight for the podium. Alfa Romeo shocked the audience with both drivers qualifying in Q3 but with Zhou stalling at the start; his race was over from Lap 1. And the misery continues with Alpine as Zhou caused an accident that saw both drivers DNF after the first lap.
Are we really surprised that Daniel Ricciardo outperformed Yuki in his first race back after six months off? Only time will tell if he can continue to outpace his teammate or if Yuki steps up his performance.
Off the race track, there has been a lot of talk about cost cap infringements and future regulation changes swirling the paddock as the summer break will bring on reports and updates from the FIA.
